Angus Haslett appointed first international boss of CRV global

CRV Ambreed managing director Angus Haslett has been appointed CEO of CRV’s global artificial breeding business, making him the company’s first ever international CEO.

Kiwi born and bred, Mr Haslett will succeed Roald van Noort, who has successfully led CRV for over 12 years. Mr van Noort will step down as CEO and Chairman of CRV’s Executive Board on May 1st 2020.

Mr Haslett joined CRV in 2009 as Managing Director of the Business Unit Oceania and most recently managed the USA operation. He has worked closely on developing Oceania’s strategy, including several acquisitions that have seen CRV establish itself at the forefront of innovation in herd improvement.

Mr Haslett says globally the dairy industry is going through an incredibly dynamic and challenging time of change.

“There is a need to continue to feed the world, but do so in way that is sustainable. With genetics, we can help with both,” he says. “I am excited about the opportunities these challenges present for CRV and proud to be leading our company into an era that can realise these opportunities for our farmers.”

Mr Haslett believes New Zealand is still highly relevant on the international stage.

“We use a farming system that comes with its own challenges around efficiency and sustainability, but importantly, one that has earnt us a global reputation for producing high quality food,” he says.

“Our country has an important role to play when it comes to feeding the world, particularly with our dairy products, and with that there is an opportunity for us to work together more collaboratively, both in New Zealand and internationally.

“We don’t need to tackle these challenges on our own, but rather pool our knowledge and resources together. I am looking forward to the opportunities my new role will present to make this happen.”

Mr Haslett will re-locate from New Zealand to The Netherlands in the first half of 2020.

Mr van Noort’s contribution to CRV has been significant. He has led the company through an era of unprecedented change in cattle genetics and positioned CRV as one of the leading and most admired herd improvement and bovine data companies in the world.

His work in the Netherlands and Flanders has created a sound position for CRV’s shareholders to manage the changing world of dairy farming, whilst his work internationally has created an important and strong platform from which the company can grow.

“It has been a great honour to serve CRV Holding for 12 and a half years,” says van Noort. “The natural moment to change leadership is now. I am proud that my successor comes from within the CRV ranks. Over the last decade Angus has proven to be one of the great new leaders of our industry. I wish him every success in leading CRV into a new era.”

Mr van Noort will remain available to CRV until September 1st 2020 in order to facilitate a smooth transition. Angus Haslett’s replacement as head of CRV’s Oceania business unit will be announced in due course.

CRV’s Supervisory Board, led by Peter Broeckx, is highly appreciative of Roald’s dedication and wish to extend their deep thanks for his valuable contributions to the development of CRV particularly in New Zealand. Peter Broeckx comments, “We recognise the significance of what Roald has created for CRV; our shareholders, our farmers and our people who work with us and for that we are extremely grateful.”
